What the what? A fashion post, on a non-fashion week?
Yep! I'm linking up with Blonde Episodes [found thanks to Christianna!] for a Fashion Fridays post. This week, I'm interested in Nordic patterns.
Normally, I think these types of reindeer-bedecked, oversized, heavily patterned clothes are, well, tacky. I don't know what it is about this winter though; I've just been drawn to it.
Maybe I'm dreaming of a Scandinavian vacation. Windswept tundra. Sturdy cabins on frozen lakes. Bundled up in front of a fire, drinking hot cocoa, sitting in a cabin with blustery winds outside. [Notice how my dreams of a vacation don't involve going outside? As much as I like the idea of bundling up, I don't want to actually go outside...]
Well, I don't know what it is, or if I'll actually buy some, but I'm enjoying the patterns all the same!
How about you?
Would you wear Nordic patterned clothing?

ReplyDeleteLove that scarf!! So warm and cozy looking!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, I did a post about this too a while ago. Said almost the same things! I'm loving nordic print this winter too!
ReplyDeleteP.S. thanks for the shout out friend!
love those prints!
ReplyDeletefair isle is always a favorite. =) the trick is finding things the right blend of cozy and stylish...trickier than it sounds.
ReplyDeleteSo funny you say this, but I have always found the pattern a bit tacky, too. Until this year, that is, and I have been drawn to them. There is no way I could wear them here, but hubby and I have talked about going to Alaska, where I think they would be perfect!

The hat and especially the leggings are awesome!!! I don't know if I would actually wear a printed sweater though. That seems a little overkill to me. I still can't get over the adorableness of the leggings though.
ReplyDeleteLove that pattern! Thanks for linking up honey! Have a great weekend! Kori xoxo
ReplyDeleteI do really like Nordic sweaters. Fair Isle prints are my favorite, but mostly for babies. I would totally rock those reindeer tights, though...maybe. I don't know- is it just me or does anyone else always associate reindeer with Abercrombie & Fitch? I have a hard time getting past that. I love the sweater in the first photo, too... It looks more bohemian to me than Nordic. Like homeless-chic.
