i think figs are fascinating and beautiful.
they have such a great color contrast: vibrant on the outside, dark on the inside.
like a watermelon, but deeper.
i've never had a fresh one, but I'd like to.

figs are...weird. i like the flavor, but it is STRONG, and the textures are odd and mismatched (you can eat both the inside and the outside). i'd never had one before moving to california, but they grow almost feral in berkeley. i do *really* like the fig jams we've made -- the flavor is awesome, plays well with all sorts of other things (orange, anise, ginger, white cheese, pork, etc).

Figs are the BEST. I love them and can eat enough in one sitting to make my stomach hurt.

ReplyDeleteAnd good luck with Jeopardy. My friend was on Wheel of Fortune a couple months ago. She had to take a couple tests before being on the show. And she walked away with almost $10,000!
