Putting the 'me' in Monday

How would you like to get to know me a little better this Monday?

Good.  I thought so.

You see, as an ENFJ, I'm talkative and assertive, so I'm asserting that you would, indeed, like to talk to me.

Have you ever taken a Jung Typology test?  (Also known as a Myer-Briggs test.)  I've taken a few throughout the years, but since I love taking tests and quizzes, I thought it would be fun to try it again.  I think ENFJ is what I've gotten in the past.  I know I always get E and J, but I have a hard time remember the two middle letters.

Anyway, let's see what my results say about me...

ENFJs are Intuitive. They are imaginative and deep. Their thought process is abstract and focused on possibilities. They are idealistic and complex people.  I like to think of myself as a complex, multi-faceted person.  As I grow older, I've realized how much of the world is not in black & white.

ENFJs are decisive, organized and structured. They like to complete tasks and they seek closure.  They like to plan ahead.  Oh yeah, this is definitely me.  Packing and moving is one of the most stressful, anxiety-ridden experiences for me because I love having everything organized and just so.  I mind when things are dirty, but I hate when they are cluttered.

ENFJs thrive when they are in a position to help others. They do well in environments that provide meaningful interaction and very little conflict. They get bored when the job involves too many details or paperwork.  Are there people who really enjoy jobs with tons of paperwork?  But actually, I don't mind paperwork.  It feeds well into my need to be organized; I like making sure I've filled out the form, so i know they're right!  They are natural teachers and counselors.  Confirmation of career choice?  Check.  They work with enthusiasm and order.

Possible ENFJ weaknesses:
Can harbor hurt feelings  Not necessarily true.  I cannot stand it when I feel that people are mad at me, so I seek to make amends as soon as possible.  But I suppose hurt feelings are different, and I can hold onto them for longer than needed.
Tendency to manipulate  Nope.
Tendency to smother  I don't think so...?
Blames self when things go wrong  Often.

And just for funsies, here are some famous historical and fictional characters who are also ENFJs!
Seriously, who comes up with this stuff?

Historical:  King David, Dick Van Dyke, Martin Luther King Jr, Margaret Mead

Fictional:  Charlotte (from Charlotte's Web), Neal (from Dead Poet's Society), Catherine (from Wuthering Heights) and Bilbo Baggins

Any list that has a spider, a hobbit, and a man after God's own heart is a-okay with me.

  1. I'm an ENFP, with only a slight margin (1%) E over I and only a slight margin (10%) F over T. I'v taken them before, too, and I've also scored this way before. I love taking these kinds of tests. I like that this one included the famous people, but I am less enamored by mine than by yours. Real people of note: Mark Twain, Dr. Suess, and a slew of actors... Fictional characters: Ariel, and Steve Irkle (how flattering to be compared with him...). Fun post!

  2. I am an ESFJ. I sent the results to Joel and his response, "You feel more than you think?!?!?!?!" :)
