What are your thoughts on feeding people?
Let me explain. Until recently, I assumed if you were invited to someone's house, for dinner or a party, you offer to bring food. My momma taught me how to be polite, and showing up empty-handed is rude.
However, as one of my friends explained, "If I'm inviting you over to my house for my party, it is my responsibility to provide for you. It's part of being an adult, and being a good host. Good hosts shouldn't expect their guests to bring anything."
While I believe there are instances where potlucks are appropriate, and instances where they aren't, I'm curious where you lean. I'm definitely on the potluck side. I love having people over, and I love feeding them, but I love eating other people's food too. I like seeing their creativity, and seeing what their eating & drinking preferences are. I like the camaraderie that sharing food brings. Mostly, my friends are good cooks, and it would be a shame not to let their talents shine!
This being said, guests are always welcome in my home, empty-handed or not.
